Bread sheera/Upma

Ingredients

½  pack of White bread slices, 1 finely chopped onion, ¼ cup green peas, 3-4 tbsp oil, 2-3 green chilies pinch of mustard and cumin seeds, pinch of turmeric powder, pinch of asafetida, 4-5 curry leaves, and lemon juice, coriander leaves for garnishing, salt and sugar to taste. 

 

How to make

 

  • Cut bread slices into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in frying pan and add mustard seeds followed by asafetida, curry leaves and green chilies.
  • Now add chopped onion.
  • Sauté till onion turns pink.
  • Add turmeric and mix it well.
  • Add green peas and cover up till peas become tender.
  • Now add lemon juice, salt, sugar, and pieces of white bread.
  • Sprinkle some water and again stir it well.
  • Bread sheera is ready to serve along with a cup of tea of coffee.
