Besan Ladoo

Ingredients

4 cups besan ladoo flour ( coarse gram flour specially available in Indian grocery store), 2 cups sugar (powdered/pithisakhar ), 1 cup ghee(clarified butter), ½ cup warm milk, 1 tbsp nutmeg powder(jaifal), 1 tbsp cardamom powder raisins, nuts (optional)

How to make

  • In thick bottom pan, heat ghee and add besan.
  • Mix and roast the mixture till smell of roasted besan comes.
  • At this point mixture turns reddish in color and ghee can be seen at the edges of pan.
  • Turn of the gas and add milk and mix it well.
  • When mixture is warm, add sugar, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder (jaifal) and nuts.
  • Mix everything by hand.
  • Start making round shape medium size ladoo
  • Store in a airtight container
