Sabudana Khichdi/Tapioca preparation

Ingredients                                       

2 cups of sabudana (Tapioca), ¼ cup peanut powder (coarse), 2 tbsp sugar, salt, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 potatoes boiled and cubed, ½ tbsp cumin powder

Ghee (clarified butter), 1tbsp cumin (jeera) seeds, 4-5 curry leaves, 2-3 green chilies chopped,

Coriander leaves and grated fresh coconut for garnishing

How to make

  • Soak the sabudana for half an hour in water.
  • Drain the water and keep it aside for atlest 5-6 hrs.
  • Once it becomes tender to touch it is ready for making khichdi.
  • Now add salt, sugar, and peanut powder to socked sabudana.and mix it well.
  • Heat the ghee in a thick bottom pan and add cumin seeds, green chilies, curry leaves.
  • to this tempering, add cubed potatoes and mix it well.
  • Now add sabudana to the pan.
  • Squeeze lemon juice and give it a good stir and do not cover.
  • Fry for 6-8 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and fresh grated coconut.
  • Serve hot with Cucumber Salad.

Tip - soak sabudana ahed of time. entire process needs atleast  5-6 hrs. Also socking time may vary depending on the tapioca.
