Bhakri/Rural Maharashtrian Bread

Rice flour, salt to taste, warm water for kneading
How to make
- In mixing bowl take rice flour and add salt.
- Now start kneading the flour by gradually adding warm water.
- Make soft dough.
- Make balls of kneaded dough, one at each time.
- Take rolling board and spread little rice flour to avoid sticking while making bhakari.
- With the help of fingertips start patting kneaded flour in circular shape like a chapatti or tortilla.
- Don’t pat to thin.
- Turn on heat and place bhakari on tava/skillet.
- Place the bhakari on tava in such a way that the side with no flour should get roasted first.
- put little water on the surface with the help of clean cotton cloth.
- Roast well.
- Flip and roast other side too.
- Now remove from the pan and hold bhakari in flame to roast the edges. Do not burn it.
- Serve hot with butter or ghee/clarified butter on top and your choice of vegetables like Bharli vangi/stuffed eggplant, pithale, zunka, bharit, etc
- Garlic-coconut chutney, raw onion would be great combination.
